Making a Mosaic coffee table
Material:
- Base - Cement sheeting
- Top - White cream and iridized tiles, purple iridized tiles, greenish blue tiles and dark green tiles
- Glue
- Grout
Tools
- Brush, Cutter, Grouting equipment, Mixing containers, Clean Cloths, Sponge, Safety glasses
Planning and design: The design can be drawn on paper first and then traced onto the cement sheet with carbon paper. The surface mosaic can be divided into two part, the border and the center graphics. It is possible to see the carbon mark through glass tiles, so avoid marking on the sheet in the center of tiles position. The use of Grout colour can make a big differences too.

Adhering the tilesTiles are stick onto the cement sheet with bonding agent. For our coffee table, we start with the border and then the center graphics and last we fill up the rest of the space with Opus Musivum style.

After the grout are settle, this should only take a few minutes. Wiped over the top with a damp sponge and remove excessive grout. The grout takes around 24 hours to dry.

Finishing the mosaicThe picture shows how the table look like after all the tiles and grout has been applied. The purple shiny reflextion is caused by the iridized tiles. The grout can be sealed by a sealer.
